As one of the largest destination resort developers in the world that engages customers and passengers from around the world, Genting Hong Kong is uniquely positioned to welcome and connect our guests with art & culture; and foster understanding of global culture on a local and international scale.
Art & Culture
The company has long understood the liberating and aesthetic impact of inspirational artwork. A variety of valuable artwork has been collected throughout the company's history, and put on display in our properties. The Impressionist painting of supermodel Kate Moss by Lucian Freud and the Surrealist masterpiece "L'etoile" by Joan Miro, one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, were displayed on SuperStar Virgo. Other artwork includes sculptures by world premier artists Dale Chihuly and Fernando Botero – all on display at Resorts World Manila.
We take a similarly active role in art sponsorship. In September 2011, we sponsored an art exhibition in Taipei, titled "Genting Hong Kong Presents: Yu Peng Exhibition 2011, Taiwan". It showcased a series of paintings by celebrated Taiwanese artist, Yu Peng. His bold display of ingenuity in sketches, ink paintings, woodblock printings, clay sculptures and stonework has steadily altered the artistic landscape in Taiwan. Open to the public, this exhibition included community and educational activities, designed to enhance understanding and appreciation of the paintings, as well as artistic articulation in general. Part of the Yu Peng collection was on display at the Keelung homeported Star Cruises ship, SuperStar Aquarius, where all passengers had the opportunity to savour the artwork.

Sport
Same as art, sport touches a wide spectrum of people, including spectator and participants alike. It does not only engage the public in wholesome physical exercises, but inspires uplifting emotion and elation among spectators as well.
Genting Hong Kong takes pride in contributing to the steady growth of golf in Mainland China. This commitment to the game has been solidified over the past two years, through continued sponsorship of the budding China Professional Golf Association (CPGA). The company also sponsors 10 of the top Chinese professional golfers and has since formed the Genting Golf Team. Our unwavering support steadily procures results, as demonstrated by the increase of international golf players in the tournament. The tournament itself has also expanded in scale; tournament stations this year spanning over a number of cities including Beijing, Shenzhen, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, Tangshan and Hainan.
Besides golf, the company is also tapping into the global influence of soccer to engage children to the sport. We have organized a group of underprivileged children to meet with English Premier League football club Aston Villa and its club ambassador Ian Taylor in Hong Kong in August 2011. This follows the Genting Group's two-year main sponsor partnership with the football club. Using his professional football career as a glaring example, Taylor illustrated to the children the valuable lesson of pursuing dreams with virtues such as tenacity and dedication.
